Cally has been drawing since childhood and developed an interest in tattoos at a young age. She had her first tattoo at age 14 and gave her first tattoo at 18. After studying in art school for 6 years Cally decided to take on tattooing full time and began an apprenticeship.
During her apprenticeship Cally joined social media app ‘instagram’ and began posting her drawings online, she quickly became one of the most followed artists on social media and gained celebrity interest and followers.
Cally Later moved to London (Notting Hill) and through her popularity online began working on celebrity clientele, her celeb client list now includes the likes of Rihanna, Jourdan Dunn, Professor Green, Alexandra Burke, Sienna Miller, and Tim Howard.
Cally has now had 4 magazine covers on the worlds leading tattoo magazines, as well as having her work published in multiple book publications one of which is the top selling tattoo book of all time. She has appeared on top television and radio channels such as ITV’s “This Morning”, on the BBC, and Radio 1, and is currently starring in MTV’s newest show “Just Tattoo Of Us” (currently airing) as well being part of several global campaigns and art exhibitions. Cally also curated the ‘worlds first human gallery’ in London which gained broad media attention.
Recently Cally-Jo took part in a campaign with Kenco coffee titled “coffee vs gangs” in which she was commissioned to create a fine art drawing to launch their second year. Cally met with the ambassador of Honduras to discuss the important issue of gang violence in Honduras and how tattoos plays an important role.
Cally has also worked with HTC phones on two occasions creating tattoo art inspired handsets, one of which was a collaboration with supermodel Jourdan Dunn, and the other to be presented to award winners at the MOBO awards.
Cally’s artwork now graces the bodies of some of the worlds top a-list celebrities which has landed her artistic creations in leading fashion magazines including Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Elle, Glamour and many more, as well as featuring in campaigns for brands such as Dior, Balmain and Londunn. For the last two years Cally-Jo has been living and working in New York and now splits her time between Sydney, London and NYC.
Cally’s future plans involve working with an American human trafficking organisation in hopes to raise money as well as awareness using her skills and social media, and she ultimately hopes to use her talent and success to help charities and organisations and raise awareness on global issues.
